Retail Sales Representative

Retail Sales (Front Counter) Representative

Do you dream of red rock, trail rides, dust and jeeps?  When you have to work do you enjoy sales, and helping others live their passion for the off-road industry?  Retail Sales Representatives first and foremost are jeep enthusiasts.  They know the parts because they know and love the products and are mechanically inclined.  They enjoy talking to customers in person and over the phone. Must be able to apply their knowledge with basic sales principals to evaluate the customer’s needs and recommend the best products and services to help the customer and increase revenue.  They have experience in coordinating projects and working with other departments.  They are passionate about customer service and enjoy doing it.     

Where you’ll spend your time:

  • Evaluating customers’ needs and making recommendations for products and services; helping the customer understand how the product will benefit them
  • Greeting customers in the showroom and ascertain what they want or need
  • Schedule customer builds with the shop and coordinates the shop schedule
  • Coordinate with the shop on the status of work on the customer’s vehicle and help resolve problems or delays.  Relay status of the vehicle to the customer and update any delays or changes from the original order
  • Maintain product in the retail showroom including arranging displays and merchandise to promote sales
  • Clean shelves, counters, tables and the restrooms
  • Chatting with customers over the phone and through webchat to assist them with technical and non-technical information including helping them understand information about the product, cost, shipping cost, availability and sometimes payment terms
  • Entering orders through the computer systems, canceling orders, and looking up information
  • Working with internal departments and external business partners to resolve customer problems or concerns
  • Keeping up on industry news, trends, products, services, competitors and other relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies and the latest product-line developments
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

You have / Are:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A Passion for the off-road industry specifically jeep knowledge
    • Effectively able to match product knowledge to the implicit needs of the customer
    • Demonstrates understanding and technical knowledge of our products and services
    • Ability to use knowledge of products/services to upsell
    • Troubleshoot product related problems
  • Customer Focused
    • Demonstrated through 1 to 2 years customer service and sales experience
    • Look for ways to add value beyond the customer’s immediate requests
    • Addresses the unidentified, underlying and long-term needs and anticipates upcoming needs and concerns
    • Enhance the customer’s experience through following company processes
  • Experience with the selling process taking a consultative approach
    • Knowledge of the importance of a sales process and can identify steps
    • Uses all forms of communication (verbal, written, and electronic) in a clear and precise way to communicate to the customer
    • Employs a solution-oriented approach to selling
  • Experience working with computers including the ability to enter information with high accuracy and ability to navigate comfortably through programs

  • Technical or Mechanical training

Your work environment:

  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions, requires exposure to the warehouse and shop environment including dust and exhaust
  • Requires bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling the product
  • Office environment must be able to work at a desk and requires extended periods of sitting/standing
  • Requires repetitive movement and requires repeating the same physical or mental activities
  • Requires speaking/ reading / writing English
  • Requires ability to talk and speak through the telephone
